This weekend has been the first that I stayed in Toulouse since before Marseille. Yesterday (Saturday) I went with Katie, Molly, and Elena to La Fête de la Violette, a festival in the Capitol square celebrating the flower of Toulouse, the violet. There were tents with the plant itself and others with purple soaps, potpourris, wines, and all kinds of pastries flavored with violet. Yesterday was also La Chandeleur, a holiday on which everyone eats crepes! Madame Carel made some for our dessert after dinner last night, and I had the leftovers today with lunch. Yummm
